I’m Sarah, a hand‑painted shop window art specialist and creative stylist based in Lindford, working across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. I founded SJ Styling in 2020, bringing together my lifelong love of art with over 20 years of experience in visual merchandising. My Story
After studying Art & Design at the Farnham Institute of Art and Design, I built my career with leading high‑end international retailers across the UK and EU. Over two decades, I learned exactly what makes customers stop, look and buy — how colour, layout, storytelling and creativity can transform a space and influence behaviour.
How SJ Styling Began
When redundancy struck after Covid in 2020, I was completely lost. I never imagined I could make a living painting. But that moment became a turning point. I chose to re‑educate myself, study interior design and finally launch SJ Styling — a business that allows me to combine all my passions: painting, styling and design. Now I get to create expressive, hand‑painted window artwork every day, and I couldn’t be happier.

Today, I use my experience to help independent shops, cafés, salons and boutiques create shopfronts and interiors that feel personal, expressive and commercially effective. Whether I’m painting a seasonal shop window, designing a mural or styling a retail display, my approach is always hands‑on, collaborative and rooted in understanding your brand.

I’m passionate about changing the way businesses present themselves. I love being a creative champion for my clients, helping them express their personality and stand out in crowded markets. Hand-painted murals do just that. Whether it’s a quirky window display or a bold wall mural, I’m not afraid to challenge the status quo and encourage businesses to be themselves.
With my retail background, I understand what converts browsers into buyers. I’m a creative thinker who uses knowledge of retail processes, design theory, and colour psychology to create visual stories that work commercially.

Beyond SJ Styling
I’m a mum of two boys, which taught me even more about creativity, flexibility, and finding joy in the process. When I’m not painting murals or styling spaces, I’m sketching new ideas, exploring colour combinations, or planning the next quirky installation.
Community involvement
Giving back to the local community is important to me. I’ve organised my own Interactive Mural event at Easter to encourage more people to shop the high street. Re-designed a marketing window for a charity Grow Fresh project, sponsored by the National Lottery, and painted a chart for a local soap box event.
